Mrs M Bean -Chairperson and Safeguarding and Child Protection Governor

I joined the governing body as a parent governor in October 2012 and i am currently Chair of Governors. I am also one of three governors who come into school on a weekly basis and monitor a particular area of the curriculum.

I am married with four children, and work from home as a company secretary for my husband’s business, which works largely with the rail industry. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and days out in London.

Mrs Lorna Hebden - Head of School

I joined Hadleigh Junior School in September 2014 as Deputy Headteacher and in January 2024, I was appointed as Head of School. I am responsible for the internal leadership and the day to day management and organisation of the school. I have a key role in working with the community to formulate whole school aims, objectives and policies. I attend all Governing Body and Committee meetings, reporting to and collaborating with governors as appropriate.

After having my two daughters, I became a Parent Governor at their school (Plumberow Primary). It was here that I was inspired to become a teacher and trained via the Graduate Trainee Programme at Plumberow, where I worked for the next 11 years, developing first as a teacher and then as a Senior Leader. I then moved to Hadleigh Junior School as Deputy Headteacher.

Prior to being a teacher, I worked as a Business Manager for a large Financial Services Organisation where I gained valuable business experience.

I am married, with two daughters, and have an interest in travelling and history.

Mrs W. Caswell - Vice-Chairperson

I joined the Governing Body September 2019.  I have just recently accepted the Vice-Chairperson position.

I was asked to become a Governor at the Junior school as I have been helping out at the school for quite a few years on the Parents Association.  I am also a Foster Carer and so have had children going through Hadleigh Junior for the last 15 years.

I am married with 4 children at home.  As a Foster Carer I am kept pretty busy and the children definitely keep me on my toes.

As a Governor I help with monitoring of the LAC and SEND children at the school.

Mrs S.Thompson - Staff Governor

I am one of the staff governors, having taught at Hadleigh Juniors since 2013. I have been a teacher since 2002, working in local primary schools across both key stages, in a variety of teaching and leadership roles. I am part of the senior leadership team with responsibility for leading maths across the school.

As a staff Governor, my main role is to provide an insight into the day to day activities of the school and explain the various projects and initiatives taking place as well as being a voice for other members of school staff.

I am married with 1 child; I feel this allows me to understand the perspectives of both teachers and parents.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family in the 'great outdoors' including camping, paddle boarding and cycling- when the British weather permits!

Mrs R. Whipps - Parent Governor

I became a Governor earlier this year. I wanted to become a Governor on order to support Hadleigh Juniors and help the school community be the best it can be for our children.

I am currently a parent at the school, with a daughter in year 6, and a son in year 5. I also work at the school as a Midday Assistant. I find both these roles as a Governor and a Midday Assistant very rewarding.

I am married and live in Leigh. I enjoy working out and socialising with friends, but above all, spending time as a family!

Ms C. Pieper – Sponsor Governor

Previously Chair of the Parents Association, I have been supporting the Hadleigh Junior Governing team as first as a parent governor and then as a sponsor governor since September 2016.

As well as weekly monitoring and termly policies review, I have a particular area of responsibility as Health & Safety governor.

I joined the Governing Board after my oldest had just left Hadleigh Junior School and my youngest was coming up from the Hadleigh Infants & Nursery School.

Born and raised in Germany, where governing boards only exist in companies, it is quite fascinating and rewarding that here is an actual chance as a parent to support the school and its community.

Mr Andrew Green

I joined the board of Governors at Hadleigh Junior in March 2023 as a Trust appointed Governor. I have worked in the IT and Financial sectors for all of my career in Project Management roles.  As an ex pupil of Hadleigh, I was very excited when the opportunity came available to be a Governor, and I hope to bring my work experience to bear in this position.

I am Civil partnered and have 1 child.

Outside of work, I enjoying walking my dog, photography, gardening, and really just like being outside.  My go to subject at school was always History, and continues to this day.
