Year 5 Vikings

On Thursday 5th January Year 5 got straight into their new topic, dressing as Vikings, using their holiday homework helmets, taking on a Viking identity and re-enacting the start of a battle on the play-ground. This has really inspired the children right at the start of the term. Well done Year 5.

Class 10’s Money Sense Workshop

On Monday 6th June we welcomed   Nicky Carlson from  The Royal Bank of Scotland to support Mrs Thompson in the delivery of a whole mornings Money Sense Workshop. The aim of the session was to further enhance the children’s understanding of money related skills . The children worked in groups to plan  a party following a budget. They then presented their ideas in an ‘Apprentice’ style pitch to the rest of the class.  This was a great way for the children to apply their mathematical skills in a real life context.
