The Don Sheppard Charity Day 2021

Today we held a joint assembly for all the children of Hadleigh Infants and Nursery School and Hadleigh Junior School to announce the totals raised by both schools during our first Don Sheppard Charity Day.

On behalf of both schools we wanted to express our immense gratitude and appreciation to our children, families and staff for their support in raising money for Prostate Cancer UK. As a community, we pulled together to raise an incredible £4,302- this exceeded any expectation or hope. As part of our charity event, both schools were competing for the Don Sheppard Charity Day shield. This year, Hadleigh Junior School won the trophy as they raised the most money - a staggering £3,293.  Both schools are already looking forward to the event next year which we hope will be as successful.

Thank you for your generous donations and encouragement of our children to give their best for a very worthy cause.

10th June 2021
It was an honour and a privilege to meet WW2 veteran Don Sheppard in person. HJS and HINS presented Don with a cheque for £4,232.43, which was the total both schools raised for Prostate Cancer UK during the Don Sheppard Charity Day.  Thank you to our Prefects: Imogen, Svet and Mia-Anne for representing our school at this event.

Don has been a real inspiration for our community and I once again thank you for supporting the Don Sheppard Charity day so generously.
