SUFC Community Games

Well done to our boys' football team, who finished runners up at the SUFC Community Games at Roots Hall on Thursday.

The boys played brilliantly in every game, but really hit their stride in the last few games.

During the group stage they won 3 and drew 1, without conceding a goal. However they needed a huge win to qualify top on goal difference and progress to the semi final. Incredibly they won 9-0 in a 10 minute game!

In the semi final, the team beat Hockley 1-0 in a narrow, but deserved victory.

Unfortunately, they fell at the final hurdle, losing 1-0 in extra time to Lee Chapel, for the second year in a row and the 3rd year in a row that we have reached the final.

Goals were scored by Callum, Aiden, Albert, Oliver and Lewis, but with so many scored in the last group game we all lost count of who scored and how many! William managed to keep 5 clean sheets out of 6 games!
