General aspects of RSE are taught by class teachers. Specific RSE topics are delivered in Years 5 and 6 and cover the following themes.
These sessions cover understanding the physical and emotional changes that take place during puberty, why they happen and how to manage them.
‘How babies are made and born’
These sessions explain the scientific concepts of how babies are made. They show the children how a baby develops in the womb and how a baby is born.
A range of teaching methods are used including DVDs, discussion and looking at case studies.
Parents and Carers have the right to withdraw their children from aspects of the Relationships and Sex Education material included in the National Curriculum. If you would like to withdraw your child, please inform Mr Moore.
