Paralympics Festival

On Wednesday, a squad of 14 amazing athletes headed off to The Deanes School to take part in the Castle Point and Rochford SSP Paralympic Festival. The children competed in Seated Volleyball, New Age Kurling and Boccia competitions against seven other local schools.

After overcoming a few initial nerves, the teams went off to their specific events. They completed a teaching session and practice before entering competitive fixtures.

A huge well done to the whole squad.

Gabriela, Amelia, Adrian and Luca  – The Kings and Queens of New Age Kurling!

William, Dylan, Lewis, Lydia, Louisa, Oliver and Leila – The Stars of Seated Volleyball!

Finley, Autumn and Freddie – The Boccia bosses!

Every member of the squad performed brilliantly with great sportsmanship and respect for each other and their competitors.

At the end of the competition, we had even more reason to celebrate our achievements and be proud of our squad as the Boccia bosses, Finley, Autumn and Freddie won 6 out of their 7 games meaning that they will now go into the County Championships later in the year!

Well done everyone, we are all so proud of you!
