Year 6 Football Festival

On Thursday our Year 6 football team took part in the Southend United Community Games at Roots Hall Stadium. We were the last team to win the competition back in 2019, so expectations were high and the team were keen to get their hands on the trophy.

The team played four group games, winning two, drawing one and losing one. This was enough to qualify for the semi-finals as Group A runners-up. In the semis we faced Prince Avenue, Group A winners, but took an early 3-0 lead and that's how the game finished.

In the final we faced Lee Chapel, who had beaten our team 3-2 in the last group game. The team played really well and created several chances, but unfortunately Lee Chapel were more clinical in front of goal and won the final 2-0.

Great effort boys. Our goals were scored by Lewis (6), Isaac (2), Kayden (1) and Bobby (1- Class 15).

We have the rest of our league games to look forward to, building on the success of this competition.
