Don Shepard– WW2 Veteran Visit

On Thursday we were honoured to welcome Don Shepard back to our school as part of our Remembrance activities. Don shared his experiences as a Royal Engineer during the D-Day landings and took many questions form the children. This was once again an inspirational opportunity for our children and staff.

Mr Newlyn accompanied Don and brought along an American aircraft carrier flag from the Pacific battles  and a British flag from the Dunkirk evacuation.  Many of the children were able to handle these historical artefacts.

A huge thank you to Mr Newlyn for organising this event for our school and to Don for sharing his stories, so our children can better understand one of the biggest moments in our history.
