Assemblies – on non-assembly days a form of collective worship takes place in classrooms.

Expectations

 

  1. Maths sessions are held per the timetable
  • 5 x maths lessons per week. One to have an arithmetic focus/test.
  • Year 3 and 4 to visit the computing suite once per week using TT Rockstars (20 mins)
  • 5 x maths practice sessions per week. These sessions will develop fluency, key skills and gap fill previous learning.
  • TT Rockstars daily challenge 4 x per week.
  • Minimum of 3 pieces of work to be recorded in books per week.
  1. English:
  • 5 reading sessions per week
  • 5 spelling sessions per week (1 recorded piece of work per week)
  • There are five English lessons per week; one with a grammar outcome, one with a comprehension outcome. Both sessions should form part of the Talk for Writing process.
  • 1 x handwriting session in afternoon English basic skills.
  • Minimum of 3 pieces of work to be recorded in books per week. One will be grammar with two additional pieces.

 

  1. PSHE/wellbeing – 1 lesson per week
  2. RE – taught every week per the Essex Agreed Syllabus
  3. PE – 2 sessions per week  - timetable to be adjusted for English and maths if these sessions take place in the morning
  4. Music, computing and French taught during PPA
  5. Other subjects – science, history, geography, art and DT to be timetabled appropriately, e.g. blocking, ensuring coverage of year group objectives.
  6. Timetable will be adjusted appropriately for special events – trips, visitors to school, special assemblies, themed days and weeks, etc.
  7. All year groups include 5 x 10 mins sessions of wellbeing/mindfulness per week.
